Sweet Pea the Dog needs a home

Hi!  My name is Sweet Pea and I just turned 5 years old on December 18th.  I am a 13 pound, Peke/Pom mix.  I have a great smile and warm brown eyes. I am quite adorable.

The rescue believes I am a little bit feral and need an experienced owner. Someone who is familiar with rehabilitating "broken" dogs.

PNC is still learning all about me because I am so new. Please check back for updates.

8/1/17-Update from her foster mom:

Sweet Pea has made a great deal of progress but she will still need an experienced dog owner to continue to work with her.

We are working on her fear of new people. I recently discovered she is afraid of storms (Just wants to be in the same room as her bonded person). She loves her meal time and runs up and down the hallway until I put her bowl down. She loves to de-stuff all the new toys and loves to carry them around. When she's afraid, she sometimes will bark/growl at whatever is scaring her. She gets along with all the cats and dogs (even the big dogs) and has taken some cues from Bear (My big 80 lb mix). She will jump baby gates, so we have modified them. When the house is quiet and dark, her favorite spot is sleeping on my pillows. Despite all the heartache she has experienced, Sweet Pea has kindest soul and deserves a furever family of her own.

My adoption donation is $ 300 + Tax $ 20.63.

All dogs are current on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested and on preventative, micro-chipped and if recommended by a Vet, have had a dental cleaning and other treatment to get and keep them healthy while in the rescue’s care. All dogs are living in foster homes and house manners, including potty training and any behavioral issues are being worked on.  But we never say our dogs are 100% house- trained as when they transition to a new home there can be accidents while they adjust to a new environment and schedule.

PNC Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit and any and all donations over and above the adoption donation are tax deductible.  We have a large group of dogs in our Furever Foster program that acts as a foster based sanctuary for dogs not likely to be adopted.  The rescue keeps these dogs healthy, comfortable and on necessary medications with necessary treatments for life.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us via email, [email protected] and remember we are all volunteers.  Your patience is appreciated!
